A ‘Celebration of Grandparents’ at the July Faith Café

We are delighted to announce that our Patron, Archbishop Michael Neary, Archbishop of Tuam,  will be the guest speaker for our Grandparents’ Faith Café on Tuesday 13 July. Archbishop Neary will join us to be part of our celebration of Grandparents in the month in which we celebrate the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly for the first time.

The Faith Café is an initiative of the Catholic Grandparents’ Association which was introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic as a social and spiritual space for Grandparents to meet online once a month to chat, to offer prayers and intentions and to just be together in the spirit of faith. It has been a lifeline for so many people during this time of pandemic and has connected Grandparents across the world from Ireland to the USA, from the UK to Australia.

Speaking ahead of this month’s gathering, Catherine Wiley, Founder of the CGA, said, “It has been wonderful to watch the growth of the Grandparents’ Faith Café as a way of connecting grandparents to each other and to their faith. I am looking forward to welcoming Grandparents from around the world to be part of our event in July with our Patron, Archbishop Michael Neary. It will truly be a very special celebration of Grandparents.”

All are welcome. Registration is free. The event will run from 7.30pm to 8.30pm (Irish time) and 1.30pm Central Time USA and Canada on Tuesday 13 July. .
