Our June Newsletter is now available!

The arrival of the month of June means we will soon mark the one month countdown to the first ever World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly on Sunday 25 July. It also means that our June Newsletter is here!

In this month’s issue we feature some additional new resources for the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly as the Universal Church looks forward to the celebration of the day. I want to give a particular mention to a beautiful new resource that we are suggesting for both families and parishes to offer on the day which is the ‘Plant a Tree in their Memory’ resource. We are inviting families and parishes to arrange to plant a tree on the day in thanksgiving for all grandparents and elderly. You can find more information on the initiative on our website.

In this month’s newsletter we also feature a report on the wonderful Grandparents’ Faith Café that we held on 8 June with guest speaker Peggy Stanton of Ave Maria Radio. Peggy shared so many inspiring nuggets of wisdom with us and we were delighted with the wonderful reflections shared by Mary Cotter and Brenda Drumm.

We also feature the most wonderful image of the CGA’s Kathleen Mironchik with Cardinal Timothy Dolan in New York. Kathleen met with the Cardinal earlier this month. They say a picture tells a thousand stories and the one we feature in this month’s newsletter certainly does.

Please do pass this newsletter on to friends and colleagues or ask them to subscribe to it. Happy reading of this month’s issue from all of us in the CGA!
