Our next Faith Cafe will be held on Tuesday the 14th of April
We are delighted to invite you to our April Faith Café, with our special guest Cardinal Wilfrid Napier.
Theme: “Grieving & Resurrection from Mary’s Point of View”
About Cardinal Napier
Born in Matatiele, South Africa on 8 March 1941, Wilfrid Fox Napier entered the Franciscan Novitiate in Killarney, Ireland before completing a BA at university in Galway — a country and people he holds with great affection to this day. He was ordained a priest on 25 July 1970 and served in the Parish of Lusikisiki before being ordained Bishop of Kokstad in 1981.
As President of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference from 1987 to 1994, he played a significant role in mediation and negotiation during a turbulent period in South Africa’s history, and was present at the signing of the Peace Accord in September 1991. He was appointed Archbishop of Durban on 22 June 1992 and raised to Cardinal by Pope John Paul II on 21 February 2001. In 2005, he was among the 117 cardinals entrusted with the election of Pope Benedict XVI.
Cardinal Napier brought a beautiful blessing to close our March Faith Café, and we are deeply grateful to welcome him as our April keynote speaker for this profound reflection on Grieving and Resurrection from Mary’s point of view — a theme that speaks to every heart that has known loss, and every heart that lives in hope. Free and open to all.
Please take note of the time difference where you are.
