First Grandparents’ Faith Café of 2022 opening online on Tuesday 11th January
The first Grandparents’ Faith Café of 2022 will open online on Tuesday 11 January. The CGA is delighted to announce Bishop Paul Dempsey, Bishop of the Diocese of Achonry in Ireland as guest speaker for January. Bishop Dempsey will speak on the theme of ‘Grandparents and Synodality’.
Bishop Paul Dempsey, is the Bishop of Achonry Diocese. He was ordained on Sunday 30 August 2020 in the Cathedral of The Annunciation and St Nathy, Ballaghaderreen. Bishop Paul is a native of Co. Carlow. He was ordained a priest in 1998 and until his appointment as Bishop of Achonry, served in various parishes in the Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin. His Episcopal Motto is DUC IN ALTUM – Launch out into the deep. (Luke 5:4)
Commenting ahead of the January Faith Café, Catherine Wiley, CGA Founder said, “I am very much looking forward to welcoming Bishop Dempsey to the Faith Café. We look forward to reflecting together on the theme of Synodality which simply means ‘walking together’. With the Universal Synod taking place at the moment we are all being offered an opportunity to reflect on how we are ‘being Church’. It’s timely for the CGA to take a moment of reflection on the theme of the Synod which is ‘For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation and Mission’. I have no doubt that Bishop Dempsey will have much food for thought to offer us and that we in turn will be inspired to always think synodally in our approach to our faith.”
